Reorder PDF Pages guide
Arrange every page of a PDF in a new order, including descending ranges, without uploading the source document.
What this tool does
Reorder PDF Pages accepts a complete page sequence and copies the source pages into a new PDF in that order. Individual numbers, ascending ranges, and descending ranges are supported. For a six-page document, 3, 1-2, 6-4 produces pages 3, 1, 2, 6, 5, and 4.
Every source page must appear exactly once. The validator rejects duplicates and reports missing pages instead of silently deleting or copying content. This distinguishes reordering from extraction and deletion tools, where a subset is intentional.
The page-copy operation preserves visible PDF page content and page dimensions. Title, author, and subject are copied when available. Other metadata, outlines, bookmarks, internal links, attachments, forms, annotations, page labels, scripts, signatures, and application-specific structures may not survive or may refer to old positions. Inspect the complete result before distribution.
How to use it
- Select one readable PDF.
- Wait for the detected page count and default ascending range.
- Enter the complete intended order, using commas or ranges.
- Use Reverse all pages when the whole document should run backward.
- Build the reordered PDF, download it, and verify every page.
For a simple swap in a four-page document, use 2, 1, 3-4. Page numbers refer to the original source, not a sequence that changes while you type.
Benefits
- Supports individual pages and ascending or descending ranges
- Requires every page exactly once
- Rejects accidental duplicates and reports missing pages
- Provides a one-click full reversal
- Performs page copying locally in the browser
Review after reordering
Check printed page numbers, tables of contents, cross-references, bookmarks, form calculations, and internal links. Moving the page object does not rewrite text that says “see page 8.” A document with logical page labels such as roman-numeral front matter may also display labels that differ from physical indices.
Creating a new file changes its byte structure and can invalidate digital signatures. Keep the untouched source for signed, official, archival, evidentiary, and regulated records. Use a dedicated PDF review application when navigation structures or accessibility tags must be maintained.
