Split PDF guide
Divide one PDF into two or more separate files by assigning every page to a validated output group.
What this tool does
Split PDF reads the document locally, counts its pages, and suggests two page groups. You can replace that suggestion with as many as 25 groups separated by semicolons. Within each group, use individual page numbers, comma-separated selections, or inclusive ranges. For example, 1-3; 4,6; 5,7-10 creates three files while retaining the order written inside each group.
Validation requires every source page to appear exactly once. A page cannot occur in two groups, and no page can be omitted. This makes the operation a true partition of the complete document rather than an ambiguous extraction. Each output is constructed as a new PDF containing only its assigned pages, and every file is downloaded separately.
The tool copies page content but does not promise to preserve every document-level feature. Bookmarks, named destinations, portfolio attachments, digital signatures, scripts, form behavior, and links that target pages in another split file may no longer work as originally intended. Signed PDFs should be treated as changed documents after splitting.
How to use it
- Select one readable PDF with at least two pages.
- Review the detected page count and suggested two-part split.
- Enter output groups separated by semicolons, such as
1-5; 6-10. - Choose Split PDF and correct any missing or repeated page message.
- Download every generated file and open it before deleting the source.
Use commas only within one output and semicolons between outputs. The first page is numbered 1, matching the visible page order rather than the PDF's optional printed page labels.

Planning a reliable split
Split at logical boundaries such as chapters, invoices, clients, or reporting periods. Page thumbnails are not displayed, so confirm page numbers in a trusted viewer first. If a document has a cover followed by numbered content, the viewer's page 2 may display a printed “1”; ToolSeta still treats it as page 2.
Confidential documents remain on the device during processing, but the downloaded pieces inherit their visible content. Review each file's filename, pages, annotations, and permissions before distributing it to a different recipient.
