PDF Page Size Inspector guide
Inspect the page dimensions and stored rotation of a PDF without changing or uploading the document.
What this tool does
The PDF Page Size Inspector reads each page's dimensions from the document and groups pages that share the same width, height, and stored rotation. Instead of listing hundreds of identical pages, it displays compact page ranges for every geometry group. You can switch the measurements between PDF points, inches, and millimeters.
PDF coordinates are measured in points, with 72 points equal to one inch. The millimeter display converts inches using 25.4 millimeters per inch. Values are rounded for readability, while grouping uses the page measurements at a finer precision. Stored rotation is reported separately because a page can have portrait dimensions and a 90-degree rotation instruction.
This is a focused geometry inspection, not a full print-production preflight. A PDF may contain additional boxes such as CropBox, BleedBox, TrimBox, and ArtBox, and a professional workflow may distinguish between them. The displayed width and height come from the page size available to the browser PDF library and should not be treated as proof of bleed, margins, resolution, font embedding, or print compliance.
How to use it
- Choose one PDF within the shown file-size limit.
- Wait while the browser reads the page structure.
- Select millimeters, inches, or PDF points.
- Review every size and rotation group and its page ranges.
- Compare the results with the requirements of your printer, publisher, or destination system.
If you see several groups unexpectedly, note the listed page numbers and inspect those pages in a PDF editor. A cover, foldout, scanned attachment, or accidentally resized page can explain a mixed-size document.

Interpreting the measurements
Physical dimensions do not reveal image quality. A page can have the correct size while containing low-resolution graphics or missing fonts. Likewise, the displayed dimensions alone cannot confirm the final trimmed sheet when specialized print boxes are present. Use the inspector for a quick page-geometry check, then use a complete preflight application for regulated, archival, legal, or commercial print delivery.
Password-protected or damaged files may not open. The tool does not attempt to bypass encryption or repair a document.
