What this tool does
The resizer decodes the selected JPG, PNG, or WebP in your browser and draws it onto a new canvas with the requested width and height. Browser image smoothing is set to high quality before export. PNG and WebP inputs keep their format, while other supported photographic inputs are exported as JPEG.
When aspect-ratio lock is enabled, changing one dimension automatically calculates the other from the source width-to-height relationship. Turning it off allows independent dimensions, which can intentionally or accidentally stretch the image.
How to use it
- Choose a JPG, PNG, or WebP image.
- Enter the new width or height.
- Keep aspect-ratio lock enabled to avoid stretching.
- Select Resize image.
- Download the result and inspect it at its intended display size.

Choosing useful dimensions
Reducing dimensions removes pixels and usually lowers file size. Enlarging creates more pixels by interpolation, but it cannot recover detail absent from the source. For web use, choose dimensions close to the largest size at which the image will actually be displayed to avoid transferring unnecessary data.
The tool allows dimensions from 1 to 10,000 pixels per side. Extremely large canvases can require substantial memory and may fail on lower-memory devices even within that range. Keep the original file so you can create a different size later without repeatedly resizing an already processed copy.
