What this tool does
The Image Converter reads a supported image into the browser canvas, preserves its pixel dimensions, and exports a fresh PNG, JPG, or WebP file. The conversion happens locally on the device. ToolSeta does not upload the selected image or retain a copy.
Each format serves a different purpose. PNG supports transparency and lossless image data, which is useful for logos, interface graphics, and screenshots. JPG normally creates practical file sizes for photographs, but it does not support transparent pixels. WebP combines modern compression with transparency support and is often useful for web delivery.
When JPG is selected, transparent areas are filled with white because the format cannot store an alpha channel. The quality control applies to JPG and WebP. PNG export is not controlled by a lossy quality percentage, so the slider is disabled for that format.
How to use it
- Drop a JPG, PNG, or WebP image into the upload area.
- Choose PNG, JPG, or WebP as the output format.
- Adjust quality when exporting JPG or WebP.
- Select Convert and wait for the result summary.
- Check the resulting file size and download the converted image.
The output keeps the original width and height. Use the Image Resizer when you also need different pixel dimensions, or use the Image Compressor when reducing transfer size is the primary goal. If the destination specifically requires an embedded string, continue with Image to Data URL after choosing the final file format.

Choosing an output format
Choose PNG when sharp edges, text, or transparency matter more than the smallest possible file. Choose JPG for photographs that do not need transparency. Choose WebP for modern websites when you want a useful balance of size, visual quality, and alpha-channel support. Always open the downloaded result before replacing an original asset, especially when the image is part of a production design system.
Converting a file does not improve the source resolution or restore detail that was already removed. Repeated lossy conversions can introduce additional artifacts, so keep the highest-quality original available for future editing.
Browser canvas conversion normally writes a new image without copying source EXIF, XMP, comments, or ICC profile blocks. Colors can therefore render differently in a color-managed workflow, and the absence of supported metadata in the output should not be treated as a forensic sanitization guarantee. Preserve the source when metadata or profile fidelity matters.
