Age Calculator guide
Calculate exact age in years, months, and days for any target date.
What this tool does
The calculator compares a birth date with a target date and reports the elapsed calendar time in complete years, months, and days. It uses the actual number of days in each month, clamps leap-day anniversaries correctly, and also calculates total elapsed days from UTC dates so daylight-saving changes do not distort the answer.
The calendar result and the total-day result answer different questions. Calendar age describes the anniversary-based age people normally use, while total days measures the complete elapsed time between the two dates.
How to use it
- Enter the date of birth.
- Choose the date on which to calculate age.
- Select Calculate exact age.
- Review the years, months, and days.
- Use the total days or approximate weeks when you need an elapsed-time figure.
Benefits
- Correct month and day borrowing
- Leap-year and variable-month handling
- Works with past or future target dates
- Includes total days and approximate weeks
Understanding the result
A result such as 28 years, 2 months, and 6 days means 28 full anniversaries have passed, followed by two complete calendar months and six additional days. Month lengths vary, so this is not the same as dividing total days by a fixed number of days per month.
Practical notice: This output is suitable for planning, forms, and general reference. It is not an official age determination for legal eligibility, benefits, immigration, or identity documents; use the rules and dates required by the relevant authority for those decisions.
