What this tool does
The tip calculator multiplies the entered bill by the tip percentage divided by 100, then adds that tip to the original amount. When a group size is entered, it divides both the tip and final total evenly by the whole number of people.
Preset buttons provide common percentages, while the input field accepts a custom percentage when local customs or service quality call for a different amount.
How to use it

Understanding the split
The full bill is split evenly; the tool does not assign different meals or custom shares to individuals. Displayed currency values are rounded to two decimal places, so paying each rounded per-person amount can differ from the unrounded total by a few cents. Groups can settle that small difference manually.
Tipping practices differ by country, service type, and whether tax or service charges are already included. The calculator does not recommend a percentage. Enter the amount and percentage that match the bill, local practice, and your own decision.
